Made some lovely minestrong loosely based on Gabriel Gates recipe. Look at these fantastic ingredients, brimming with favanoids and I know not what!

Garden soup ingredients. Broccoli, cabbage, beetroot and thyme. Yum!

I suppose officially its winter, which starts on the 1st of June in Australia, but I like the other convention that winter starts on mid-winters day ... although that doesn't make sense either does it?

Anyway, in Autumn in Adelaide there are still some cheery sights in the  garden.

Calendulas have seeded themselves all over the front garden
Cyclamen
Nasturtium leaf with droplets

I've just ordered some more apples for our stepover apple fence from the rare fruit society and I thought I should do the responsible thing and make a map of where all the varieties are so I don't lose track.

Its crude and hard to read but now its here on my site and I wont lose it!

I picked this pumpkin from the garden and cut it to make soup.

When I turned back it had started to weep. I've never seen a pumpkin do this before. Must be a sign of wholesome goodness and freshness!Weeping Pumpkin
